Harry Potter fans the world over still awaiting their acceptance letters to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, have settled for the next best thing: Quidditch, the popular wizarding sport from the JKRowling series. Quidditch has been readily adopted by the muggle world, keeping the rules and athletics in tact, minus the magic of course. Colleges around the nation, and in fact around the world, have been hopping on the bandwagon starting their own Quidditch teams and even participating in a ‘World Cup’ event.
Mudbloods the movie, directed by Farzad Sangari, documents how Quidditch is played and how the phenomenon has grown thanks to some dedicated fans and athletes. Sound like something you would want to see? Well, you can help to bring it to the big screen. Sangari has taken the documentary to Kickstarter in an attempt to gain funding for post-production and completion of the project.
Recently, we were lucky enough to catch up with one of the film’s stars Tom Marks, captain and founder of the UCLA Quidditch Team, to talk the Mudbloods Kickstarter Campaign, what “real quidditch” is all about, and what fans can expect from the film. Watch the exclusive interview below!
