With the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2014 wrapping up in New York, it’s time to put our Tim Gunn glasses on and decide which designers really wowed us on the runway. While there were many interesting, beautiful and creative designs, six designers really made their styles work. The best of the best for fall 2014 include (drumroll, please)…
1. Max Azria for Herve Leger
Max Azria for Herve Leger really hit it off with this tight black number. The cutouts are a continued trend, and the shimmery pattern adds dimension to this design. Paired with black booties, this look is sassy and sleek. Ow ow!
This look by DKNY is simple and flirty. The single color gives the dress an element of simplicity and seems effortless. The lacey fabric and flirty bottom of the dress give the design a pop. Finally, a true day-to-night dress!
This navy number from Lacoste is quite striking. The dark color, firm structure and zipper detail make this design appear bold and strong. Any woman who means business needs this look in her closet. This design speaks confidence!
4. Jill Stuart
Sparkles! Jill Stuart got it right with this black sparkly design. Another flirty design, with a bit of an edge, has graced the runway. I am in love with every aspect of this design—the collar, fabric combination, sexy black color and, of course, the sparkles. This dress is sure to be a must have for many style savvy ladies looking for an updated LBD this fall.
5. Monique Lhullier
Monique Lhullier is definitely a designer to watch. Her fall 2014 collection included many intricately constructed dresses, but this one is quite noteworthy. Tones of gold and nude colored fabrics are combined for a glowing youthful look. The black statement belt completes the ensemble that is full of both grace and charm.
6. Zac Posen
Zac Posen, wow. This dress is just so bold and confident! Every woman needs a power dress like this design in her closet. With its rich color and sharp angles this dress really packs a punch. Described in a word: power. Love it!
One more from Posen! I just couldn’t choose one design from Zac Posen… so many gorgeous gowns and dresses. Is anyone in need of a gown for the Oscars? Here is my top pick! This dark teal toned ballroom design is completely gorgeous from neckline to hemline. Paired with a bright coral lipstick this look really pops and has an air of old Hollywood elegance. C’est très chic!
