Just weeks ago, the first season of Syfy’s hit series Helix came to a thrilling close. Though there will be a torturous wait for next season (it won’t return until 2015), the show’s very own Alan Farragut (Billy Campbell) and Julia Walker (Kyra Zagorsky) shared their thoughts on Season 2 on the NBCUniversal Cable Upfronts Red Carpet and The Daily Quirk is bringing you the inside info.
While interviewing on the carpet, Zagorsky shared how excited she is about the show’s Season 2 pick-up for 13 more episodes.
“I’m more excited than she is, I just don’t show it,” Campbell joked. But after finishing a season filled with black ooze that “looks like hell and tastes like chocolate,” Campbell admitted that he wasn’t sure where the storyline is headed.
“There are a very smart people in a room right now in Los Angeles trying to hash all that stuff out, and we are not them,” he said.
“They like to keep us in the dark about these things,” added Zagorsky.
Zagorsky could only speculate on what could have led up the crazy reveal that Julia would one day run Ilaria Corporation, which she was pleased to say received a shocked reaction from fans.
“It seemed like she really went off the rails there, but I think it’s pretty exciting.”
One thing that both stars were sure of was that their characters’ relationship could take an interesting turn after the events of the season finale.
“I think it’s a whole journey, because they set us up where we’re on opposite ends of the spectrum,” said Zargorsky of the exes. “You know that’s not an easy choice however they got to where they are, so I’m excited to see what [the writers’] idea is.”
“When they set that up in the thirteenth episode, I think they had an idea of where they were going to go with that – or maybe they didn’t, I don’t know,” she teased.
Whatever becomes of the characters in Season 2 of Helix, let’s hope it will be as chocolatey and hell-ish as its predecessor.
