It’s been 11 years since the Disney TV movie version of A Wrinkle in Time came out. Fans of the fantasy novel by Madeleine L’Engle, will be pleased to know that a new Disney movie adaptation, this time for the screen, is in the works. The even better news is that Jennifer Lee, director of Frozen, is going to be writing the script for this as her newest project.
Lee has a pretty great track record. As we all know, Frozen was a hit. She also co-wrote Wreck-It Ralph. Considering I didn’t even remember the last adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time, I’m hope Lee’s success will help make this new version a hit!
Details are scarce at this point. However, we do know that Lee is a super fan of the book. On August 5, she tweeted that she has loved the book for more than 30 years.
There have been a lot of changes in film technology since 2003 when the TV movie version of A Wrinkle in Time came out. I think traveling through a tesseract will look so much better with modern technology! Also, I have full faith and confidence in Lee. Maybe if it goes right we can all cross our fingers that the other four novels from A Wrinkle in Time Quintet will be made. I’d be happy with even just one more.
