Friends come and go. We all know that, right? Over the years, we slowly realize friends we were once close with are no longer in our lives anymore. It’s sad to say, but it’s something that inevitably happens when you grow up. Have you ever thought back and wondered what ever happened to your friendship with so-and-so? Yeah, so did Demi Lovato. Well, not really.

Recently, Lovato was asked by a fan about her friendship with the Miley Cyrus where she replied, “Um…yeah…that. Um… we’re, we’re like… We’re acquaintances.” Safe to say that’s code for, “No longer BFFS.” And that’s fine! That’s not the only person Lovato grew apart from. Remember when she was on Watch What Happens: Live and she revealed her and Selena Gomez are no longer BFFS either?

I don’t know about you, but it sort of breaks my Disney-loving heart to see that these friendships are no longer what they once were. Celebrity friendships are always in the public eye. I mean, look at Taylor Swift! She’s basically best friends with every celebrity. But do you ever think back to those iconic friendships and you just question, “What the heck happened?” Me too. Let’s take a trip down memory lane and reminisce on all the good times.

Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag

Alright, alright. Before “Speidi” was a thing, Conrad and Montag were a thing! That was until we saw their friendship slowly break apart piece-by-piece right before our eyes during their MTV reality show The Hills.

Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton

Trust me. No one is more heartbroken about this than me. I watched almost every season of The Simple Life and I always wanted a friendship like theirs. Nowadays, it’s apparent that they aren’t necessarily hanging out and getting into mischief as usual. Not to say that these two are mad at each other, but they simply drifted apart. Richie has a family to look after now, and Paris is, well, still Paris.

Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton

Before Kim K was super famous – before having a reality show and being married to Kanye West – she was seen almost everywhere with Paris Hilton. She even worked for Hilton. Needless to say, the two are nowhere to be spotted together except once recently, when Kim posted a photo of them hanging out and laughing. That was a sight for sore eyes.

Adrienne Bailon and all the Kardashians

Fact: Adrienne Bailon used to date Rob Kardashian. Fact: Bailon slammed Rob in Latina magazine. Another fact: all the Kardashians defended Rob via Twitter. Pretty sure there’s bad blood between them these days.

Katy Perry and Taylor Swift

Speaking of bad blood… One of the most talked about feud this year was between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. Swift already confirmed the track “Bad Blood” had to do with someone in the music industry and everyone pointed fingers at Perry. But before all the hate between them, let’s just remember they used to be seen partying together. Sigh.

Aubrey O’ Day and Dawn Richards

My heart is damaged to know that Danity Kane is no longer together. Again. Earlier this year, it was revealed there wasn’t a true bond within the group when a violent attack ensued between O’Day and Richards. We can all only dream of what we wished to see if the band were to still be together.

Am I the only one to notice that the females are more prone to abandoning their friendships? Is there anyone I missed? Who do you expect to be the next friendship to split? Let us know in the comment section.
