I never thought I’d say this, but as Diddy presented at the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards, he summed up the event pretty well: “Everybody keep drinking. It’ll be over soon!” Because really, that’s how I imagine the Golden Globes to be – the more fun, light-hearted little brother of the stuffy and sophisticated Academy Awards, where celebrities are allowed to mingle during commercial breaks and consume lots of alcohol (but they probably still can’t wait to go home).

Though three-hour award ceremonies can drag on from time to time, tonight’s show proved to be entertaining through and through. The highlight was, of course, the Best Actor win for an actor who is often nominated but rarely a winner, Leonardo DiCaprio. Next stop, an Oscar? The interwebs are no doubt keeping their fingers crossed. Continue reading

The subtweet, a new trend on the social network Twitter, has increasingly become a favorite method of communication, branching out into a culture of its own. The art of subtweeting is quite simple: it’s a way of talking about some one without actually mentioning their Twitter handle in the dialogue. Many celebrities, including pop stars like Rihanna and Adam Levine do it. Even us regular people do it. The constant teeter-totter of indirect tweets between enemies or friends is possibly childish, but the passive-aggressive nature makes for some entertaining moments in Twitter history. Be cautious though, subtweets are like paper cuts; they may not be deep, but they still hurt like hell when done perfectly. Here’s how to recognize, start, and avoid a subtweeting battle.
