The Best Banana Pudding Recipe

Before moving to Florida, I had never had the delicious wonder that is Banana Pudding. I had never even heard of the dessert and was kind of skeptical of it’s greatness the first time someone at my table ordered it. I was kind of like seriously? Pudding? We could be having a hot fudge brownie sundae right now… and then I tasted the vanilla wafer filled banana masterpiece and became an instant addict. If I had dinner somewhere that had Banana Pudding, there was no question whether or not I was going to want dessert. Eventually, I decided it was time to learn to make some at home and after tinkering with a few different recipes I think I have found what truly may be the best Banana Pudding Recipe ever.

1 (8 ounce) Package of Cream Cheese
1 (14 ounce) Can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
5 Ounces of French Vanilla Instant Pudding
2 Cups of Cold Milk
1 (8 ounce) Container of Frozen Whipped Topping Thawed
4 Bananas, Sliced
1 (12 ounce) Box of Vanilla Wafer Cookies

Two Large Bowls on for mixing and one for the finished product
A Cutting Board
A Mixer

Step One: Thaw your Whipped Topping. I cannot tell you how many times I have forgotten to thaw something ahead of time and been stymied half way through a recipe! Don’t try thawing it in the microwave or leaving it out on the counter because you will wind up with a soupy mess. Instead, transfer your frozen Whipped Topping to the fridge and let it thaw for at least six hours before attempting to use it.

Step Two: Once your Whipped Topping is thawed, take out your package of Cream Cheese to soften and place your Milk in the freezer for about 15 minutes while you get your supplies and ingredients together.

Step Three: Peel and thinly slice four Bananas.

Step Four: Add the Cream Cheese and Condensed Milk to your mixing bowl and beat until you have a nice fluffy mixture.

Step Five: Add the Cold Milk and the Pudding Mix to the mixing bowl and beat until smooth.

Step Six: Add about one banana’s worth of slices to the mixing bowl and beat on high until you’re sure they have been incorporated into the mixture.

Step Seven: Fold about 4 ounces of whipped topping into your mixture and let it chill for about 15 minutes.

Step Eight: Create a Layer of Vanilla Wafers in the bottom of your second bowl and then cover that layer in sliced bananas.

Step Nine: Carefully spoon your pudding into the second bowl.

Step Ten: Spoon some whipped topping on top of your pudding and smooth it out with a spoon. Garnish with vanilla wafers and bananas however you like!

Final Step: Eat some pudding!
