Looks like two new faces are joining the list of possible actors to play “Four” in the film adaptation of Divergent! Latest reports say Alex Pettyfer and Jeremy Irvine are now being considered for the role, along with Lucas Till whose name has been tossed around for some time now. As previously reported, Shailene Woodley will be taking on the lead role in the film with fans hotly debating which actor would make the perfect “Four” to her “Tris.” If this new information is to be believed, many of the fan favorites for the role have already been ruled out, but successful franchises have been launched despite initial fan backlash to casting.
Once the role of “Four” is set in stone, attention will undoubtedly turn to the other main characters in Veronica Roth’s hit trilogy, with the roles of Peter, Christina, and Uriah currently garnering the most buzz. An online movement supporting Twilight star Booboo Stewart for Uriah has gone wild on Twitter with fans making it well known that they want him for the role. Booboo has expressed interest in the part and thanked fans on twitter for getting involved, but there has yet to be in any indication that he’s being considered for the role.
There is still some buzz around American Horror Story’s Evan Peters involvement in the film, although it appears he is not being considered for the part of “Four.” Fans best guess is that he may be considered for the role of Dauntless Leader, Eric, but again there has been no confirmation of his auditioning or involvement with the film. Peters did confirm back in September 2012 that he had received the script for the film, but there has been no news on him since then.
With production on the Divergent film set to start in March 2013, we should be hearing about a final casting decisions for all of these roles some time in the near future. Let us know what you think of this latest casting news in the comments and who you would like to see in the roles!
