2013 MTV Movie Awards Preview!

The 2013 MTV Movie Awards will broadcast live from Los Angeles, Sunday, April 14, 2013 with infamously hilarious host, Rebel Wilson.

Joining Wilson are some fun presenters including Steve Carrell, Melissa McCarthy, Kerry Washington, Danny McBride, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Chris Pine, Saldana and more. With so many amazing celebrities – how could you miss out?

Two special awards will be given out during the show including ‘Comedic Genius’ and ‘MTV Trailblazer.’

Comedic genius is going to be awarded to Will Ferrell whose appearances in movies like Old School and Elf snagged him nods for Best Comedic Performance in the past. Ferrell has won a total of nine MTV Movie Award nominations over the years and clearly isn’t slowly down anytime soon.

The MTV Trailblazer Award is will be awarded to the beautiful and incomparable Emma Watson. This will be the second year the award is given to a young actor or actress who has proved themselves with phenomenal performances in diverse roles while keeping up a distinguishable and respectable reputation. Although we fell in love with her as Miss Granger in the Harry Potter movies, she stunned us with amazing performances in My Week with Marilyn and The Perks of Being a Wallflower. She is set next to perform in Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring.

Selena Gomez will rock the house with a live performance of “Come & Get It.” Zac Efron, Amanda Seyfreid, Seth Rogan are set to present, by handing out buckets of golden popcorn to the winners in the following categories:

Movie of the Year: Marvel’s The Avengers with director Joss Whedon, The Dark Knight Rises with director Christopher Nolan, Django Unchained with director Quentin Tarantino, Silver Linings Playbook with director David O’Russell or Ted with director Seth MacFarlane.

Best Male Performance: Ben Affleck as seen in Argo, Bradley Cooper as seen in Silver Linings Playbook, Channing Tatum as seen in Magic Mike, Daniel Day-Lewis as seen in Lincoln or Jamie Foxx as seen in Django Unchained.

Best Female Performance: Anne Hathaway as seen in Les Misérables, Emma Watson as seen in Perks of Being a Wallflower, Jennifer Lawrence as seen in Silver Linings Playbook, Mila Kunis as seen in Ted or Rebel Wilson as seen in Pitch Perfect.

Best ‘Scared-as-S**t’ Performance: Alexandra Daddario as seen in Texas Chainsaw 3D, Jennifer Lawrence as seen in House at the End of the Street, Jessica Chastain as seen in Zero Dark Thirty, Martin Freeman as seen in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey or Suraj Sharma as seen in Life of Pi.

Break Through Performance: Eddie Redmayne as seen in Les Misérables, Ezra Miller as seen in Perks of Being a Wallflower, Quvenzhane Wallis as seen in Beast’s of the Southern Wild, Rebel Wilson as seen in Pitch Perfect or Suraj Sharma as seen in Life of Pi.

Best On Screen Duo: Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo in Marvel’s The Avengers, Will Ferrell and Zack Galifianakis in The Campaign, Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson in Django Unchained, Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence in Silver Linings Playbook or Mark Wahlberg and Seth MacFarlane in Ted.

Best Shirtless Performance: Channing Tatum in Magic Mike, Christian Bale in Dark Knight Rises, Daniel Craig in Skyfall, Seth MacFarlane in Ted or Taylor Lautner in The Twilight Saga: Part 2 Breaking Dawn.

Best Fight: Marvel’s The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, Django Unchained, Skyfall or Ted.

Best Kiss: Emma Watson and Logan Lerman in Perks of Being a Wallflower, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper in Silver Linings Playbook, Kara Hayward and Jared Gilman in Moonrise Kingdom, Kerry Washington and Jamie Foxx in Django Unchained or Mila Kunis and Mark Wahlberg in Ted.

Best “WTF” Moment: Anna Camp in Pitch Perfect, Denzel Washington in Flight, Jamie Foxx and Samuel L. Jackson in Django Unchained, Javier Bardem in Skyfall or Seth MacFarlane in Ted.

Best Villain: Javier Bardem in Skyfall, Leonardo DiCaprio in Django Unchained, Marion Cotillard in The Dark Knight Rises, Tom Hardy in The Dark Knight Rises or Tom Hiddleston in Marvel’s The Avengers.

Best Musical Moment: Les Misérables, Magic Mike, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Pitch Perfect or Silver Linings Playbook.

The awards start at 9/8 c. Voting is open now until Saturday April 13th for fans to weigh in on mtv.com.
