Not sure if this is just me, but when I go to concerts, I try to listen to all the opening acts music. That’s how I found out about A Rocket to the Moon. It was fall 2009 and I was going to see Cobra Starship. VersaEmerge, ARTTM, and The Maine were the openind acts and I listened to all three bands beforehand. I immediately fell in love with ARTTM. The lead singer is cute, I love rock ballads, and their music is fun to dance around to.
The band consists of Nick Santino, lead vocals; Justin Richards, lead guitarist; Eric Halvorsen, bassist; and Andrew Cook, drummer, all of whom hail from Braintree, Massachusetts. Nick created the band in his bedroom back in 2006 as a musical experiment and their record label is Fueled by Ramen. The genre of their music is considered to be alternative rock, indie rock, and pop punk. ARTTM has five EPs: Your Best Idea-2006; Summer 07 EP-2007; Greetings From…EP-2008; The Rainy Day Sessions EP-2010; and That Old Feeling EP-2012. Their studio albums are: On Your Side-2009 and Wild and Free-2013.

My favorite songs from On Your Side are: “Dakota,” “She’s Killing Me,” “Like We Used To,” “Sometimes,” “Baby Blue Eyes,” and “On Your Side.” Their new album, Wild and Free, is definitely my favorite of the two. I am in love with every single song. It is hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to, I would definitely say, “First Date.” It reminds me of the relationship I have with my current boyfriend. I am in love with the video for “Ever Enough” (from Wild and Free) because Debby Ryan, star of the Disney Channel show Jessie, makes a cameo appearance. She and Nick are best friends. In the video, Debby plays a girl who is sick and her dying wish is to marry her best friend in Las Vegas. Fun fact: Nick and Debby did a cover video for “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” by Taylor Swift.

I am a sucker for lovey dovey/feel good songs. When you listen to Wild and Free, you will get just that. A Rocket to the Moon sure know how to make your heart race, put tears in your eyes, put a dance in your step, and make you want to jump up and down. Nick’s voice will melt your heart and his lyrics will do the same as well. Nick is tall, has red hair, and has many tattoos. As you can tell, I am obsessed with him. This happens with every band I like. I tend to like them for the sole reason that the lead singer is cute or has a hot voice. In this case, Nick is cute and has a very hot voice.

I definitely recommend that everyone needs to listen to A Rocket to the Moon. You will not be disappointed. You can follow the band and their members on Twitter: @ARTTM; @nicksantino; @erichalvorsen; @andrewtothemoon; and @justinbrighten.
