Look out, Supernatural fans, your beloved Bobby Singer might not be so dead and gone after all.
Jim Beaver, the actor who brought the grumpy, loveable hunter to life back in Season 1, tweeted Monday night that he would be making a return to the hit CW show set to begin airing its ninth season on Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. in October.
For those of you who might not recall, Bobby was tragically killed by Dick Roman (James Patrick Stuart), Season 7’s big bad, with a single gunshot to the head. His character made several appearances after his demise, both as a ghost and a soul in need of saving from Hell.
Now anyone who knows Beaver understands that the actor has a wicked sense of humor, often tricking fans and leading them astray to make the big moments really surprising. But this time he seems to be serious, quickly tweeting out a reassurance for fans who are questioning his motives.
Either way, if the Tumblr response is anything to go by, fans seem pleased with the news. What do you think Supernatural fans? Is Bobby’s return good or bad for the show? And how do you think the writers will explain his return? Leave your comments below!
