Fans of Richelle Mead’s best-selling Vampire Academyseries were rewarded with a roughly one-minute long teaser trailer for the upcoming hit Vampire Academy: Blood Sistersstarring Zoey Deutch, (Beautiful Creatures, Ringer)Lucy Fry and Danila Kozlovsky.

The trailer shows that the film will follow a recent trend in young adult movies to hit the big screen, shying away from the Twilight-esque theme and falling into a line more similar to The Hunger Games and The Mortal Instruments. Gone are the days of saving the damsel in distress. Instead, the damsel’s going to show up and save herself.

Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters follows the story of Rose Hathaway (Deutch) and her return to school (a place for the supernatually-gifted called St. Vladimir’s Academy) after running away with her best friend, Moroi princess Lissa (Fry). But what they were running away from seems to be back with a vengeance, and now it’s up to Rose to protect her friend from a mysterious enemy that wants Lissa out of the picture. And, you know, there may or may not be a couple of hot guys thrown in for complications sake (not that we mind. Please, take your shirt off as often as you like, Mr. Kozlovsky.)

So what did the trailer show us? There will be fangs, there will be some awesome fight scenes and the steamy-moments will be present. The costumes look phenomenal (The queen’s outfit? To die for!) and the opening scene gives off a bit of a Mean Girls feel.

But I think the most telling part of the whole trailer stems from Lissa’s mini-speech:

“Blood is family, blood is pain…and blood is death.”

Bring it on Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters. We’re ready for you.

Amazing trailer!! I’ve been a fan of the books since they came out and I couldn’t be happier with who was cast and the production team working on it. The Waters brothers are simply amazing and I can’t wait to see Mead’s work come to life!

IM SOEXCITED!!!! I can’t wait to see it! I just think its important for other fans of the book to keep their minds open about the book. Not every detail will be brought to the screen.

  3. Jary (@Jary798) says:

That is because they went from Twilight to the CW. The trailer looked more like it belonged on TV rather than the big screen. Mean Girls much? I love the books but if you have never read the books and go by the movie trailer, you would not probably pick them up. I was very disappointed in the trailer.

thank you Twilight was not the first movie of a romance with a vampire nor was it even the best so i don’t understand why people compare every vampire movie/television to that Thing yuck

Данила Козловский очень талантливый актер,впечатляют фильмы с его участием и сама игра! Я не сомневаюсь,что с ролью Дмитрия он справилсяна отлично))
