We, as women, put ourselves through many beauty regimens: plucking or waxing our eyebrows, trying to achieve the perfect (real or fake) tan, mastering the art of eyeliner and learning how to create the perfect curls without looking like Shirley Temple are just a few many of us choose to go through.  While many of those are optional according to your fashion taste, there is one beauty regimen that all women can agree on: wanting to get smoother, silkier legs! Below I give you the best tips on how to get goddess-like legs that will make you feel confident and sexy.

Exfoliate every few weeks

Dead skin can make legs rough, dry and look patchy. Try exfoliating once every few weeks to help loosen and get rid of dead skin. Exfoliating also helps new skin to develop. Try the Bliss Super Minty Soap ‘N Scrub to easily exfoliate away dead skin and leave your legs smelling great. You can even make your own leg exfoliating scrub by mixing olive oil with your choice of sugar and essential oil. Learn more about olive oil beauty treatments by reading our olive oil article here.

Know when to change your razor

A dull and overused razor is the easiest way to ruin a good shave. They won’t shave as close as they should and can lead to knicks- something you never want! Replace your razor every 4 to 6 weeks. An easy way to know your razor needs replacing: if it comes with a moisturizing strip around the razor, look for a color change in the strip. If your razor seems to drag and not glide, that means it is time to change.

Always use shave cream

Shave cream helps you get a better shave in many ways: it helps moisturize legs, helps your razor glide more easily, lessens the chance of cuts and makes sure you don’t miss a spot. Nothing is worse than drying off and realizing you have a big strip of hair you somehow missed! Never miss a spot and get a closer shave with the Kiss My Face Moisture Shave, which is available in many great scents.

Shave at the end of your shower-and don’t make it too hot!

The steam from a shower helps open your pores and allows for a closer shave. To get the most out of your shower, leave shaving your legs to the very end.  The skin will be softer and pores will be more open, which helps prevent razor burn and allows for a closer shave. But be careful not to make your shower too hot- it can remove moisture from your skin, leading to irritation after a shave.

Moisturize before you completely dry off

After you get out of the shower, don’t completely dry off your legs. Lightly brush over them with your towel so you’re not dripping wet yet still have some water droplets. The water can actually help your legs lock in moisture from lotion, helping it to be more effective at battling off dryness. I recommend an oatmeal-based lotion that can help ease an razor irritation, such as the Aveeno Positively Nourishing Calming Body Lotion.

By following these 5 tips, you can get smoother, silkier legs in no time and banish razor burn, dry patches and missed spots. So enjoy the end of summer with those flirty skirts, pretty dresses or short shorts and show off your silkier, smoother legs!
