FOX has a new show coming this fall and it involves a headless horseman and a man named Ichabod Crane. Yes, you heard correctly. The network has put together a show based on the classic tale by Washington Irvine, Sleepy Hollow, though this time around there’s time travel involved.
Sleepy Hollow follows the tale of Ichabod Crane, a man who travels 250 years forward in time to solve a mystery. However, he is unfortunately followed by the above-mentioned headless horseman who wreaks havoc in present day Sleepy Hollow. To save the town (and the world) from this unprecedented evil, Crane teams up with a young detective who has some supernatural experience of her own.
The show certainly conveys a lot of promise based on what’s behind the camera, with writer/producers Alex Kurtzman, Robert Orci, Len Wiseman and Philip Iscove onboard as its creators. Kurtzman and Orci have teamed up for more than just a few popular film andTV pieces in the past, some of which include 2009’s (amazing) Star Trek and a little show called Fringe, another FOX sc-fi/fantasy drama and Wiseman is the man responsible for the Underworld series.
From a few recently released images, we see Crane, played by Tom Mison (Salmon Fishing in The Yemen) and also get a look at Detective Abbie Mills, played by Nicole Beharie (Shame). The pilot, directed by Wiseman, will air Sep. 16, at 9 p.m. EST on FOX. Until then, don’t lose your heads (hah)!
