A couple years ago, a young actress caught my attention in what would become one of my favorite movies, Like Crazy. Although she played a small part in this indie flick, she had something special that brought a fictional character into reality. Little did I know that this blonde beauty would go on to become America’s Sweetheart (or at least in my eyes she deserves that title) and a household name.

Dubbed as the ‘Girl on Fire,’ Jennifer Lawrence has taken 2013 by storm and she doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. With numerous appearances in television shows, indie flicks, and now blockbuster films, JLaw has worked her way up to her best year yet, 2013.

With a handful of awards already under her belt, this promising actress has a lot more to look forward to. Lawrence made her first big appearance at the 2010 Academy Awards for Winter’s Bone. Not only did she sizzle in her Calvin Klein Collection, hip-hugging, red dress, but she was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role. But the 2013 award season would prove to be an incredible one for Lawrence showcasing her great fashion sense on the red carpet and her wonderful charisma and talent on screen. Lawrence’s work was recognized with 16 wins and countless nominations for her role in Silver Linings Playbook (and some honorable mentions for The Hunger Games). Lawrence added a People’s Choice Award, a Golden Globe Award, and an Oscar (just to name a few) to her ever-growing resume.

Lawrence plays a minor role in a movie franchise called The Hunger Games, you might’ve heard of it. With all the hype over the first film in the trilogy in 2012, Lawrence left young girls everywhere wanting to be bow and arrow shooting, tree climbing, Hunger Games winning heroes. Lawrence reprises her role of Katniss Everdeen come November when The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hits theatres. I can’t lie; I will be one of the millions of fans awaiting the hit at a midnight showing! With all of the buzz surrounding the Sci-fi, action, adventure film, Catching Fire is looking to surpass the first film at the Box Office.

Also coming to theatres later this year is American Hustle, where Lawrence will again get to demonstrate her versatility as an actress. Starring alongside Christian Bale, Amy Adams, and her Silver Linings Playbook co-star Bradley Cooper, Lawrence plays a con artist’s wife. Trying out her chops at a New Jersey accent, this Kentucky native shows how she can transform herself into an array of characters.

With two big films hitting theatres later this year, Lawrence has a lot to look forward to. Personally, I can’t wait to see what she wears and what she says at her red carpet debuts and press tours for the two films. Knowing her she will bring humor and class to the carpets and interviews.

Young women love her as the fearless Katniss Everdeen, and well, men just love her! Lawrence was named the top woman in AskMen’s Top 99 Women 2013 Edition List. Her on-screen and off-screen charisma makes her incredibly likable and relatable. With all the success that 2013 has brought Lawrence, I am excited to see what 2014 has in store for the young actress. If one thing is set-in-stone for this down to Earth actress, it’s a solid career and fan base for many years to come.
