Fashion with Character: Emily Thorne of ‘Revenge’

Emily Thorne

Revenge’s Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) nears the top of my rather long list of favorite anti-heroes. Intelligent, tough and cunning (not to mention the best friend of Nolan Ross, which is arguably her best quality), it is hard not to root for her to get revenge on Hamptonite wrongdoers, even if objectively, she may be a bit cray-cray.

Emily always manages to look classy while kicking butt. While we all may not have the infinite budget that she has, her crisp, feminine look is quite easy to emulate. Emily appears to be a fan of neutral tones, as she can regularly be seen wearing tan, navy, brown and black. Though she has been known to pull out a bold red dress for a swanky gala, in her everyday life, she tends to keep things casual. Skinny jeans, knee-high boots and sweaters are staples in her cool-weather wardrobe. When snow hits the New York streets, she typically layers a classic pea coat atop her sweater.

Emily also keeps it simple with her jewelry. Her look is anything but flashy, so she usually sticks with a single bangle bracelet and a pair of delicate, dangling earrings. I’d like to believe she would like the earrings I chose for this edition of Fashion with Character, as they are a low-key nod to the double infinity sign she holds so close to her heart.

Emily may live among the rich and powerful, but her style is classic and easy to wear. You certainly don’t need to keep a revengenda to dress like Emily, but if you feel like whipping out some martial arts skills in your skinny jeans and sweater, go for it. You can see more of Emily’s awesome wardrobe on the third season of Revenge, which airs Sunday at 9/8c on ABC.
