Fall trends that never change: any pumpkin flavored food, big sweaters, boots, holiday decorations and scarves. Fall trends that do change? Makeup! Anything makeup related that was hot last season probably isn’t anymore, so what’s up this fall? Below I dive into 5 hot makeup trends for this fall you should try before the season ends and they become so last fall.
Ombre started as a hair trend and now has trickled down to the lips! It might sound difficult, but it’s simpler than it seems. The easiest way to create the ombre look is to get a lipliner a shade or two darker than your lipcolor. Draw a medium line on your lipline then fill in with the lighter color lipstick. Blend the lines together to create a flawless color flow.
Deep berry lipstick
Think blackberry, black cherry, black currant and plum. This fall brings in these dark, luscious berry colors that can be the showstopper of your look. Rock some dark, matte lips with some mascara and a bit of cheek contour and you’re good to go. If it seems too dark for you, lighten it up with a clear gloss on top.
Almost black eye makeup
Smokey eyes are last fall’s trend- this fall calls for nearly black eyeshadow. Whether it’s angled into a cateye, cut deep into the crease or reaching almost up to your eyebrows, intense, deep and almost pitch black eyeshadow is the hot trend now. To keep from creating a black pit for an eye, follow these two tips: use a light pigment black that allows you to layer to the right shade of black for you and use multiple shades of black to give your eye dimension.
A severe opposite of berry lips are electric lips. Hot pinks, electric oranges and bright persimmon colors are the other huge lip trend this season. Matched with natural eyes and a light flush of blush, these lips look fresh, fun and bring a pop of color to otherwise basic makeup.
Warm hued eyeshadow
Leaves are not the only things that come in yellow, orange and red. As weird as it may seem, these colors are beginning to pop up in eye shadow palettes and on the fall runways! Use multiple hues in the same color or layer darker colors in the outside corner or crease on top of lighter ones. Use fall leaves as your inspiration and have some fun with these not so normal eye shades!
