If you’re a Veronica Mars fan, or just generally familiar with the show, then you’ve likely already heard about the Veronica Mars Movie Project that went live on Kickstarter March 12 and was fully funded in only 11 hours. The project actually shattered several Kickstarter records, proving what a dedicated fan base the show had.

In case you don’t follow the show’s writer Rob Thomas on Twitter, you’ll be glad to hear that he announced something big for the project on Wednesday.

That’s right, the Veronica Mars movie has an official release date and it’s not all that far away! March 14, 2014!

It appears that the cast and crew for the project are as dedicated as the fans, so they made it happen almost immediately. Entertainment Weekly reported that the small release that was initially planned has been re-thought by Warner Bros., who will now give the movie a nationwide release and its performance will dictate how long it stays on the big screen.

I guess it’s a good time to start watching the Veronica Mars show if you’re like me, someone who trusts that she’ll like it because all of her best friends do. Have you seen the show? Are you excited for the movie? Let us know in the comments and keep checking back for updates as we get more information!
