5 Dresses for the Holidays by Kelsey Murray of Tickle Me Pink

Untitled #124

When it comes to finding the perfect dress for holidays there are a few appropriate guidelines to follow. The color must be festive, there must be a dash of glitter or twinkle and they must be party appropriate. You may not dress for Christmas mass the same way you would for a New Years bash. So how to decide? Well today Tickle Me Pink is bringing you five classic silhouettes that will be perfect for a myriad of festivities.

Classic Red

This time of year tends to be very busy. You could spend a Saturday going from a kids Christmas party to a swanky holiday benefit. To ensure that you are appropriate for all types of celebrations, stick to a shift dress that doesn’t show to much skin. I love how powerful this red is. It’s punchy and fitted, yet elegant and classic.

Ivory Twinkle

I love a shade of white in the wintertime. The color looks ultra feminine and fancy during the colder months. Don’t feel as if you must brave the cold stocking-less, however. Wearing a colored stocking with these is completely acceptable and I recommend my ultimate favorite kind, Spanx tights. I’d add a pop of color, such as the Dannijo crystal earrings I have featured here. I would wear this to a dinner party and bring champagne to complete my sparkling look!

Cedar Tree Green

Green is a quintessential holiday color. The only thing is you have to be very careful about which shade of green you wear. Not many people can pull of a lime green or even a Grinch green. Try and stick to a hunter green or forest green. That way the color is fuller and richer. I love the silhouette of this Alice + Olivia dress. The cut out in the back shows just enough skin.

Shiny Navy

This dress is naughty and nice. It is the perfect mix of leather and stretch jersey. The skater dress is super fitted in the torso and flows out at the hips, which flatters fuller figures. I love how this dress is super feminine and edgy at the same time. This would be perfect for a holiday office party.

Sparkly Silver

Dressing up in sparkles just screams New Years Eve. This structured origami neckline is sexy and understated. The torso has a bit of faux wrap ruching which will look extremely flattering on any figure. This flashy ensemble is a dance party waiting to happen.

Each and every dress featured here has a little something special. Whether it be a glittery accent or flattering feature, these dresses are the ideal holiday attire for any type of affair.
