The Oscar’s are coming, the Oscar’s are coming!

This Sunday is my Super Bowl. It’s the big game. The show stopper. The awards show to end all awards shows. And I couldn’t be more excited. This year in particular, I’ve watched so many of the movies that have been nominated and I’ve even watched more awards shows than I usually do just to get pumped for The Academy Awards.

A friend even texted me last Sunday saying “ONE WEEK TIL THE OSCARS!”. So yeah, it’s a big deal.

And as excited as I am for the movies, the show and the celeb sightings, I’m just as excited to see what everyone will be wearing. This awards season has been full of so many hits and several misses, but The Oscars is where people bring their A-game. And I, personally, cannot wait to see it.

With that, my five picks for stars destined to make the Best Dressed list come Monday morning are:

Cate Blanchett

Cate is flawless. Yes, some of her outfit choices may not always catch your eye as stunning at first, but she works it. This woman owns the red carpet wherever she goes and I know she will be a knock out come Sunday.

Lupita Nyong’o

I mean. This woman is on FIRE. She wore a cape to the Golden Globes and every dress since has been stunning. I honestly cannot wait to see what she brings out for the big show. And I really hope she’s got a nice, golden accessory at the end of the night to go with her outfit.

Matthew McConaughey (& Camila Alves)

The beard is shaved, his hair is short and his suits are shiny. I almost don’t recognize him anymore. Then again I don’t think anyone recognizes this man after the year he’s had. Needless to say, his suits on the red carpet have been sort of amazing. He hasn’t stuck to simple black suits but rather shimmery blue coats and statement looks. So I think he’ll be bringing something even more special on Sunday. And then Camila? Yeah, she’s probably one of best dressed Hollywood wives out there. So together they’ve somehow become a fashion power house and I don’t quite get it either, but let’s go with it.

Kerry Washington

I love this woman. A little too much, probably, but whatever. Let’s go with it. Although she’s not nominated, I hear she’ll be in attendance as a presenter and the Oscars are already better for it. Now I admit, I haven’t loved all of Kerry’s maternity fashion but last weekend at the NCAAP Image Awards she rocked it. And I have a feeling she will be a shining star at the Oscars.

Emma Watson

Also a presenter of the evening, I have a feeling she’s going to knock it out of the park. All of her red carpet choices have been flawless if not a bit risqué. Hermione Granger is all grown up and she doesn’t want us to forget it.

Other people I have a feeling will look nothing short of stunning on the red carpet: Leonard DiCaprio (SWOON), Benedict Cumberbatch (SWOON AGAIN), Anna Kendrick, Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence.

So, is it Sunday yet?
