If you’re not an avid Sports Illustrated reader, you may be missing out on the world’s most physically fit comical genius. That might sound strange to you, but model and actress Chrissy Teigen isn’t exactly what you would think of as a typical supermodel. Between her passionate love for all things food related and her addictive personality, there are many reasons why Chrissy is my latest spirit animal.
Chrissy has been on countless TV shows, magazines and even videogames, including appearances on America’s Next Top Model, Deal or No Deal and Need For Speed: The Run. But at the same time, so have many other models and actresses. What makes Chrissy so special, you ask?
I first discovered Chrissy by reading her feature in the June 2014 edition of Cosmopolitan. Although I did find her story and commentary in that article to be interesting, I didn’t really think much of it until I stumbled upon her Twitter account a couple days later – and then I was hooked. I’m sure you’ll be able to tell why in a minute.
Remember that dreamy mugshot guy everybody and their mothers (literally) were freaking out about all over social media last week? Chrissy seemed to be the only one who was able to bring some common sense into the situation.
She’s also been known to create random and pointless (but absolutely hilarious) twitter beef with various companies and individuals just for the heck of it.
And, although Chrissy is living the glamorous life of a top-dollar supermodel that also happens to be married to singer-songwriter John Legend, she still manages to maintain a down-to-earth lifestyle and personality. Well, most of the time.
Unfortunately, not everyone is able to catch on to her blatant sarcasm, so if her jokes go right over your head then I feel sorry for you. But actually though, she is just like us in real life:
When she’s not changing the world with her tweets, posing for a photo op or on tour with her hubby, you will most likely find Chrissy in the kitchen cooking up a storm (you heard me – just because you’re a supermodel with a perfect figure doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the good things in life). She even has her own blog that is mostly dedicated to sharing her favorite meals and creations, which she describes as being “personal random ramblings from a girl who loves bacon and can’t be fat.”
So, whether you spot Chrissy rocking it on a new modeling campaign, TV show, or, you know, running for president, be sure to keep all of these things in mind. In fact, let this be a lesson to the world that not all supermodels are shallow, skinny-obsessed robots – a term Chrissy despises.
Keep an eye out for Chrissy in the future and be sure to channel some of her unfiltered-yet-humbling girl boss vibes day in and day out.
