American Horror Story: Freak Show is nearly in our grasp. In less than two weeks, we are about to be scared to death as Ryan Murphy takes us on his latest adventure to a 1950s freak show in Jupiter, Florida. By now, I’m sure you, as I have, scooped up any and all details you possibly could because that is the kind of fan you have to be if you love AHS.

This is possibly the most buzzed about season of AHS not only because of its stunning cast, but also because it’s the biggest season yet — creator Ryan Murphy told Entertainment Weekly that the crew had to build an entire city.

And with buzz-worthy events come droves of fan reactions. As a young, hip woman of the 21st century, I’m very much into GIFs. It could be because they make me feel like I’ve somehow entered the magical world of Harry Potter or because they are a more enticing way of conveying emotion through visuals. Thus, it is only appropriate that I explain my love, fear, anxiety, hope and excitement for the new season of AHS with GIFs.

First off, American Horror Story is about to be back on air!

It actually could be Jessica Lange’s last season.

But at least we will get to see her play German ex-pat Elsa Mars, aka another BAMF! She even gets to sing again!

Ryan Murphy explains what interested him in the topic, pointing out how the era of freak shows ended when television began. Thus, “one freak show replaced another.”

Freak Show will be more like the scary and intense Asylum and less like the more easy-going, lighter Coven. Naturally, I’ll be covering my face in terror throughout the season…

The main villain is a killer clown named Twisty, played by John Carroll Lynch, and when he reveals what’s under his mask, Ryan Murphy says “you will faint in terror.”

Knowledgeable of the common fear of clowns, Murphy said they tried to make Twisty “the most terrifying clown of all time.”

We’ll have more Sarah Paulson than ever as she plays conjoined twins Dot and Bette, and these two may be responsible for some evildoings in town. Bow down to this flawless woman.

Both Angela Bassett, who will play the three-breasted Desiree Dupree, and Kathy Bates, who will play bearded lady Ethel Darling, look flawlessly freakish and fierce in their costumes. Werk!

And again with the combination of Lange, Bates, Paulson and Bassett, we can only expect some crushing of the patriarchy.

Evan Peters. Oomph.

But Peters will have a romantic relationship with real-life girlfriend, Emma Roberts. Be more imaginative next time. The real world doesn’t have to be reflected in the fictional one.

Pepper, played by Naomi Grossman, from Asylum will return this season. She’s the first character to appear in more than one season and is going to be just as adorable and amazing as ever!

Patti LaBelle, Matt Bomer and Wes Bentley will all guest this season.

Neil Patrick Harris wants to guest star too

As per usual, more and more frightening teasers are released that make me excited for the new season, but leave me shaking in my not-just-metaphorical-boots.

American Horror Story: Freak Show premieres Oct. 8 at 10 p.m. on FX.
