It has been 10 years since a group of four best friends took their journey into adulthood to the big screen in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Girls worldwide were taken to a place where a single pair of jeans had the power to perfectly fit four different girls while simultaneously helping them solve all of their life problems. I’m not going to deny that I may have tried once or twice to find a pair of jeans that would fit all of my friends and I, but sadly was unsuccessful.
Check out what the actors behind the four best friends have been up to in the 10 years since the movie:
Amber Tamblyn (Tibby) – Since ending her run on Joan of Arcadia, Tamblyn has been in a slew of movies including The Grudge 2 and 127 Hours. She’s also had guest roles in several television shows including The Unusuals, The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, House M.D. and Two and a Half Men. She married actor and comedian David Cross in 2012, and is currently working on another film.
Alexis Bledel (Lena) – After appearing in Sisterhood, Bledel finished her seven-season run as Rory on Gilmore Girls and starred in the movie Post Grad. She’s had smaller guest roles on TV and movies, and will be starring alongside Katherine Heigl in Jenny’s Wedding to be released in 2015. What all of Bledel’s fans have been waiting for is finally coming true this year at the ATX Television Festival, where the cast and creator of Gilmore Girls will reunite!
America Ferrera (Carmen) – Best known for her role as Betty on Ugly Betty which came to an end after four seasons in 2010, Ferrera has not slowed down. She starred in How to Train Your Dragon, the 2014 sequel and the Cartoon Network spinoff of the movie titled Dragons. Her reoccurring role as Natalie Flores on The Good Wife came to an end in 2013. I’m eagerly awaiting to see what she does next!
Blake Lively (Bridget) – Her role as Serena van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl was over in 2012 after six seasons (which in my opinion, was just not enough.) She has also starred in a long list of movies including Accepted, The Town and Green Lantern. Possibly more important, she married Ryan Reynolds in 2012 and just recently gave birth to their first child, which is sure to be the most beautiful baby on the planet. And just in case you needed another reason to love her, she named Amber Tamblyn, Alexis Bledel and America Ferrera all godmothers!
They’ve managed to keep themselves pretty busy since starring in the original film, and all four leading ladies returned to the big screen in 2008 for Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. Lucky for us, America Ferrera recently said that a third movie is in the works. Here’s hoping all four actresses reprise their roles.
