Do you ever feel like you’re constantly buying for yourself and not giving back enough? The companies on this list could be the solution to your problem! Every one of these companies gives back, either in America or abroad. For every purchase made they donate their products and services to people in need all around the world. Check out these awesome companies and see how you can help!
Warby Parker – Instead of using the popular method of donating a product for each one sold, Warby Parker donates the cost of training citizens in developing countries to be able to administer eye exams and sell their glasses to the people in need in those communities. They invest in the training so the citizens of these countries will be able to continue to provide the eye care necessary to those who are in need of a pair of glasses and regular eye exams.
TOMS – Most people know by now that the simple act of buying a pair of TOMS shoes will provide a pair of shoes to a child in need. But they have also expanded to selling eyewear with the same motive; for every pair of glasses sold, TOMS helps a person in need receive the eye care that they need. Most recently, they have launched TOMS Roasting Co. which will provide one week of clean water to a person in need for every bag of coffee sold. TOMS is responsible for the “One for One” initiative, which has given over 35 million pairs of shoes to children in need since 2006, and has given eye exams and glasses to over 250,000 people.
Blanket America – Blanket America manufactures all of their products in the United States and is focused in giving back in our country. For every blanket, towel or set of sheets you buy, Blanket America will donate one to a poverty-stricken person in need in the States. They’ve also created the Choose Haiti initiative, which provides disaster relief to those in Haiti for every item you buy from that collection. The initiative also provides jobs to the people of Haiti with the opportunity to make the items being sold through the company.
Same Sky – Their slogan, “Empowering women a world away” is exactly what Same Sky is all about. They create jobs for women struggling in extreme poverty and provide them with the necessary training and tools to create the bracelets sold. They employ artists from Africa, America and beyond, and reinvest 100% of the proceeds back into training and employing more artists and women in need. The goal of Same Sky is to provide women with the tools they need to rise out of poverty and live a life they can be proud of.
