What We’ve Been Listening To: March 2015

Looking for a little something new to add to your go-to playlist? Wondering what tunes we can’t stop playing on repeat? We’ve got you covered! Check out what we’ve been listening to this month for music recommendations from your friends at The Daily Quirk. Happy Listening!

“Friction” by Imagine Dragons

This song has a really unique sound. It’s probably one of my favorite off their new album. When I first heard it I wasn’t sure I liked it, but now that I’ve listened to the album several hundred times, this one always makes me grove a little bit. And, it doesn’t sound like anything else on their album which makes me a fan – because I love the underdog-esque songs.Chelsie Skroback

“Come and Get Your Love” by Redbone

Ok, I’m still obsessed with Guardians of the Galaxy and equally as obsessed with its awesome soundtrack. While I’ve been listening to the whole thing on repeat constantly lately, “Come and Get Your Love” is the one song guaranteed to put me in a great mood when it comes on. Plus it just sounds like a warm, spring day. Spring is still a thing, right?Sarah Fenerty

“Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon

If there was ever a song that MUST be listened to when you’re in a happy, fun-loving mood, it’s this masterpiece. This song is meant to be sang along with as you dance around in no particular fashion, and who cares if you look like a dork?! Just Shut Up and Dance! Holly Storrow

“Where Are U Now” by Skrillex and Diplo featuring Justin Bieber

Sorry Bieber fans (are you still called Beliebers?), but the second I heard this song was featuring Beiber, I almost hit next. Luckily, I didn’t, and now the song is currently on repeat. Lindsay Roussin

“Make You Miss Me” by Sam Hunt

My friend showed me this song one night in my car and I instantly fell in love. Not only am I a sucker for country music but I’m also a sucker for a cute musician and Sam Hunt does the trick!Tara Robinson

“Where the Sky Hangs” by Passion Pit

Ah! It’s been a while since we’ve heard something new from Passion Pit and this is just a feel good song. The soothing voice. The upbeat tempo. It sounds like the perfect spring song.Ashley Bulayo

“Keep Your Head Up” by Ben Howard

Ben Howard is one of my go to chill time musicians and this song in particular just puts me in a good mood- and how could it not with lyrics like “Keep your head up. Keep your heart strong”? Ashley Gebhardt

“Let Me In” by Grouplove

My current music crush is Grouplove and their song “Let Me In” is playing on repeat in my head. It’s impossible for me not to love this band – the voices of their lead singers give me the chills and their lyrics are beyond catchy. This song is featured on the soundtrack for The Fault In Our Stars.Marlo Clingman

“Blank Space” cover by I Prevail

I’ve been an unabashed Taylor Swift fan ever since “1989” entered my life. A rock lover by nature, I was filled with glee to hear I Prevail’s cover of this little earworm. It very kindly gives my guiltiest pleasure some edge, thus keeping my street cred intact. Kinda.Casey Gale
