In the film adaptation of Tom Drury’s The Driftless Area, Pierre Hunter (Anton Yelchin) returns to his home town after the death of his parents and quickly falls in love with an enigmatic girl named Stella (Zooey Deschanel), getting himself ensnared in a dangerous mystery. The Daily Quirk caught up with Drury along with director of The Driftless Area, Zachary Sluser, producer Keith Kjarval, and two of the film’s stars, Alia Shawkat and Benjamin Rogers, on the red carpet of the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of The Driftless Area, to discuss the metaphysical and mysterious love story.
