If you follow me on Twitter, I’ve said it over and over again. 2015 = The year love died. I’m being serious! It seems just about every week there’s a new divorce, rumor of a separation or SOMETHING being reported in the world of celebrity news. I don’t know what’s in the water but something is clearly wrong. So to put even more salt in the wound, we rounded up all the relationships that are clearly in the public eye and their break up story behind it. Truth be told, some of them are praiseworthy but some of them are just plain… Eek. So naturally, we ranked it from classy to “nasty.”

Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe

Everyone flipped after the Cruel Intentions phase but after seven years of marriage, these two called it quits. However, for the sake of their two children, there doesn’t seem to be any bad blood between the two. Phillippe once mentioned on Ellen, “It is so important as divorced parents to keep that connection.” In fact, photos surfaced as the former couple were seen hanging out joined by their significant others in support of their child!

Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr

After three years of marriage, this gorgeous pair called it quits but the best thing about it? They still remain the best of friends. This couple is a great example of how to keep a healthy relationship going while having a child together. There are countless photos of them hanging with Flynn like one big happy family.

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder

Another beautiful couple that all Vampire Diaries fans shipped more than anything. Everyone thought it’d be awkward once they split but they know how to poke fun. The best part was when they addressed it during the People’s Choice Awards in 2014 after they won their award for Best On-Screen Chemistry.

Gigi Hadid and Cody Simpson

For some people, it’d be the most awkward thing in the world sitting next to your ex in an airplane with absolutely nowhere to go. Oh, and one of you has a new beau. Well, everything is all good with these two when it comes to that situation. After the MuchMusic Video Awards in June, these two were randomly forced to sit next to each other but they simply snapchatted it giving off a playful awkward look on their faces.

Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas

This is more like the 27-second phone call heard around the world except no one heard it other than TayTay and Joe. In 2008, they were the “IT” couple and it all crumbled when word got around that Joe Jonas broke up with her over the phone. The fandoms went in a frenzy with that one. However, seems like all is forgiven since Joe Jonas is dating Gigi Hadid AKA one of Taylor’s best friends.

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber

I really don’t even know where to start with these two. One moment they’re together, the next they’re donezo. Just about everyone were rallying for these two to NOT be together and things got a bit crazy, to say the least. It’s been rumored that Taylor Swift (she’s everywhere, isn’t she?) had her back for everything and told Gomez to burn everything that belonged to Bieber. I’m not even quite sure where their relationship stands as of today. Who knows? Oh, and let’s not forget the fact that her song “The Heart Wants What It Wants” basically explains the relationship in the first 20 seconds of the video.

Louis Tomlinson and Eleanor Calder

TBH, neither party ever addressed this break-up but it was clear to everyone they were done after, well… You know. After it was announced that Louis is becoming a dad. Pretty sure that’s a clear way of addressing the breakup once and for all.

Look, there were so many celebrity break ups in Hollywood and I’m not even talking about just this year alone. We have to admit, there were plenty of commendable break up situations and some train wrecks but if I were to list all of them… Then, well.. This post would be 10 pages long. Which break up hurt you the most?
