I’ve had a longstanding love affair with Keanu Reeves. It started in 1995 when I was forced to see Speed in theaters. I had no desire to watch that movie, but alas, it changed my life. And I’m not even being sarcastic.

If there’s one thing people know about me, it that’s Speed is my all time favorite movie. And the second would be that Keanu Reeves is my favorite actor. I don’t know what it is about that movie or about that man, but I adore them both.

I will wholeheartedly admit that Keanu is not the best actor in the world. I doubt he’ll ever win an Oscar, but that doesn’t matter. My crush on him will never waiver.

I can’t even fully capture what it is. I mean yes, he’s pretty dreamy looking. He hasn’t aged in years and he seems like a cool guy to grab a drink with. When I met him four years ago I almost lost it because I was so excited. He, of course, totally cool, shook my hand and carried on with his nonchalant self.

Lately Keanu has been in the news again for his latest movie, Knock Knock. Admittedly I have no desire to see it because it’s a horror movie and I am a wuss. However, his Speed parody with Jimmy Kimmel and this interview on Yahoo! made me love him just a little bit more.

So, if you aren’t already on board the Keanu train I highly recommend it. Perhaps give Speed another viewing or The Replacements or A Walk in the Clouds. Everyone knows The Matrix series and yeah, sure they’re good movies and his monotone voice and acting are perfect for it, but really he’s so much more than Neo.
