Taylor Swift might be the reigning Queen of the break-up song when it all goes sour but she ain’t the only one to pen a song about a nasty break-up. Celebs have been airing their dirty laundry for all to hear via their music for a long time! Sometimes it even ends in a war, just ask Eminem and Mariah… Continue reading
It wasn’t until the news broke that you and Taylor *might* be dating that I completely comprehended the meaning of Beyonce’s Lemonade. This feeling of betrayal can only be fully expressed through a variety of song genres and subliminal messages. It’s not that I don’t love Taylor – because I do. I mean, who wouldn’t want to date her? She is talented, generous, beautiful, smart, adorably awkward at times. She’s literally the whole package. But is she the girl for you? Let’s think about it for a minute. You’re so generous, funny, talented, handsome, adorably awkward. Ok. Yes. You two might be perfect for each other, but there’s still one major problem. Taylor is most certainly and definitely not me.
Here’s the thing, we’re kind of supposed to get married. Sorry to drop that bomb on you only now. I figured I would get a few years into my career, rent a nice place in the downtown area, publish my first kid’s book, and then our time could start. You know, give you a chance to get a few more blockbuster hits under your belt, and then straight up marital bliss. I’m talking a quaint cottage in the English countryside in order to ensure our three beautiful kids have your accent, trips to the farmers market every Sunday afternoon, and spontaneous dancing in our kitchen on week nights. It was going to be so lovely. Sigh.
I know what you’re thinking: “Sarah, you’re crazy, I don’t even know you!” No, you don’t, but how big of a deal is that really in today’s day and age? People do much wackier stuff all the time. If people are allowed to marry inanimate objects in some states, I see no harm in planning my wedding to a dreamy human being such as yourself. And sure, the chances of us actually meeting are about one in a gazillion, but that’s still one gazillionth of a chance I’m willing to cling to. Actually, knowing you’d be willing to date someone my age brings that chance up from one in a gazillion to like, 10 in a gazillion. I can settle for that!
But how does one move past this type of betrayal? With grace, that’s how. If I know anything about Taylor’s track record, it’s that long term is not a word in her vocabulary. I’m sorry, that hurt me far more to say than it hurt you to hear. So when we eventually hear Taylor’s Hiddleston inspired hit, Low Key*, you can guarantee I will be ready and waiting with open arms. For now, my heart is broken, but I know someday you will put the pieces back together. Preferably wearing your Crimson Peak costume.
*My apologies for all the bad Loki puns to come out of the Hiddleswift photo scandal, but they don’t get old.
The internet was an exciting place yesterday. No matter your stance on the topic that inspired it, the event of a filibuster, seeing our government at work, is definitely cause for some serious action on Twitter. But something else came to light later in the day that threatened to take away the public’s attention from the happenings on the Senate floor- Hiddleswift. Continue reading
Everywhere we turn, women’s bodies are being judged. Everyone is either “too skinny” or “obese,” and figures on both ends of the spectrum are “unhealthy.” This judgmental behavior has become so popular that people seem to feel the need to put a label on all shapes and sizes.
Earlier this year, Glamour magazine put out a special issue in conjunction with Lane Bryant focusing on plus-size women. The beautiful Ashley Graham graced the cover, and women such as Melissa McCarthy, Adele, and Amy Schumer were featured.
As a woman who fluctuates from sizes 6 to 8, Amy wasn’t pleased that she was featured in this particular issue. She shared a post on her Instagram page letting her fans know that she doesn’t want “[y]oung girls seeing [her] body type and thinking that [it] is plus-size.” Because if a size 6 is overweight, then what is acceptable?
Friend to the comedian, Jennifer Lawrence, spoke out in light of the controversy in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. She said that she doesn’t like that people consider her body type to be normal; she puts way too much work into her body for it to be normal, but we’re so accustomed to seeing underweight women that we think it’s the norm. This, in turn, makes us think of a normal body type as being a curvy but thin one.
Why are we so focused on judging other women? Social media makes it far too easy to do this publicly (and anonymously). If you go to any woman’s Instagram page with a large number of followers, you’re bound to see negative comments strewn about regarding her weight.
When did this become acceptable?
Another famous actress who has made it clear that she doesn’t want the focus to be on the size or shape of her body (ironically also featured in the Glamour plus-size issue) is Christina Hendricks. In an interview with the Sun-Herald, Christina’s “full-figured” body is referenced not once, but twice, and she is clearly displeased by the comment both times. Why would any highly-regarded actress want to be interviewed not about her incredible talents or current roles, but instead about her figure? Why does size matter to us so much?
In this era of body scrutiny, the lingerie company Aerie has tried to make a stand. They’ve stopped using standard “models” for their ads, and instead opt to use “real” girls. This means there are sizes being featured above a 4, stretch marks make appearances, and no airbrushing is done.
Until the real normal becomes the media’s definition of normal, it doesn’t seem girls will accept each other’s bodies or their own as being beautiful. We need to stop acting like the Kardashian waist-to-butt ratio is attainable (or like it’s anything that anyone should aim for) and start encouraging each other’s healthy, natural figures. More companies and influential media outlets need to stop allowing women to be placed into “skinny” and “fat” classifications and encourage all women to be proud of how they look, regardless of their weight.
Brace yourselves. Celebrity breakups are coming.
Last year, it seemed as if something was in the Hollywood air because a handful of celebrity couples just broke up out of nowhere. That’s when I believed love is dead. Coming into 2016, we haven’t been hit with THAT many breakups… Until now. Just this past week alone, Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik, Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris, and Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama have split up.
Looks like I have to delete all my tweets saying that Taylor Swift and Calvin were my OTP goals… Erase the possibility that they would ever make a song together… Or even the fact that Zayn would have somehow found himself in a TayTay squad photo like Joe Jonas when they all were on swans together in the pool. I know you know what I’m talking about.
It’s OK, y’all. We can get through this. I’m used to this thanks to last year’s spur of breakups. First off, don’t dwell on the “whose fault is it?” You’ll end up torturing yourself on who to blame and end up taking sides. Sure, we could all get mad at Calvin Harris for being the one to break poor Swift’s heart because there wasn’t a “spark” anymore. Just you wait, Calvin. Don’t be surprised if we hear a song titled, “Sparks” or “Sparks Die” or some kind of title with that word incorporated in it. And, it’ll be a hit because everything that Taylor Swift touches turns to gold.
Second, don’t expect to see cute snapchats anymore. I relied on Gigi to give me sneak peeks into Zayn’s life since he’s been mostly MIA once he left One Direction. She gave us Directioners a way to keep a track on our beloved missed member. Sigh.
Third, think about the possibility that you could finally date Zac Efron. Oh, you didn’t hear that he’s single now and no longer with Sami Miro? Oh. Well, that should brighten up your day. So you’re saying there’s a chance, Zac? Actually, this could be the same for any relationship. We all have a chance. It may be a long shot and you will probably never run into them in your life, but it’s worth a shot to have positive thinking.
Lastly, if you’re like me, you will no longer have to torture yourself with the whole, “WHY CAN’T I BE HIM/HER?” feelings. I mean, wait. Is that just me?
It’s all right you guys. Things are always changing in the celebrity world. Next thing you know, our favorite ex-couples could be getting back together, having a baby and then getting married. It happened to Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher so this could happen to anyone else. I have hope.
I’m not jealous of Selena Gomez. Not even a little. She may be able to whisper her way through a bop while being rich and attractive, but really, I’m not jealous at all… even though my boyfriend finds her attractive. Yes you read that right, my boyfriend thinks Selena Gomez, a girl that looks absolutely nothing like me, is hot and it doesn’t bother me one bit. But if it did, I wouldn’t be alone.
Lots of people laugh at their partner for looking a little too long at Gomez or other celebrities in a magazine spread, or playfully chide them for body appreciating comments under the guise of just kidding, but secretly many people find themselves feeling a twinge of insecurity when the concept of their better half finding someone else attractive comes up. But there’s no reason to feel this way, and I’m about to tell you why I’m not jealous of Gomez and you don’t need to be either.
First and foremost, the most important beauty lesson anyone can learn is that another person’s beauty does not negate your own. I repeat, someone else being thought of as pretty in no way makes you any less attractive. It doesn’t matter how different that person looks than you. In a world full of so many beautiful things to appreciate, it’s not fair to yourself or your partner to believe there is only one type of pretty out there. Beauty comes in many shapes, sizes and colors and there will be times when your partner notices other beauty in the world.
And so do you. Remember that when you feel that twinge of jealousy start. You know that you’ve checked out at least one of The Avengers or a boybander, or maybe even that guy that lives down the hall, on at least a few occasions. It’s natural to notice pretty things and that’s completely okay. You’re fully aware that you have no intention of ever trying to act on those “wow, look at the hotness” feelings and if you want to be in a healthy relationship you have to trust your partner to have the same casually notice and then move on with the day attitude.
Yes, I brought up trust. You knew it was coming and you’re already ready to argue that you can still feel a bit jealous even if you trust someone. And that’s true, but it’s trust that you can use to put out the jealousy fire. If you can trust that your partner really wants to be with you and only you, and means it when they say you’re gorgeous, remind yourself of that when their eyes start to bulge out of their head during the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Then go back to my first point and tell yourself someone else being pretty doesn’t mean you’re less. And then remember how you drooled a little at the checkout line yesterday when you saw the cover of Men’s Fitness. Do all of that before you let yourself start to feel bad or judge your partner and you might find that the jealousy is subsiding and it’s really not that big of a deal.
That’s why I’m not jealous of Selena Gomez. We may look totally different and my boyfriend may get that glazed over eye look whenever she’s on television, but I’m okay with it because I trust him and know that not only am I beautiful, but he genuinely thinks so too. And I know that I get the same creepy silent stare whenever I see Jake Gyllenhaal. It happens, so I’m not jealous of Selena Gomez one bit. Well, maybe I’m a little jealous of the being filthy rich part, but that’s not the point. Heck, if she were my type I would probably have a crush on her too.
Marina and The Diamonds is a singer popular for hits like Primadonna and Oh No!, the latter of which was featured on the Nintendo game Just Dance 4. She describes herself and her music style as an “indie artist with pop goals.” Her style of music has attracted many, but her style as a person has attracted a lot of people, too. So here is a little peek into the life Marina leads that makes her fans adore her so much.
She loves leotards. Like, a lot.
She’s very outspoken about issues.
She has her priorities straight when it comes to dealing with constant travel.
She’s very supportive and open with her fans.
All in all, Marina is a very appropriate celebrity to look up to. She promotes self-expression through her music and fashion. She’s also never afraid to speak her mind, and encourages others to do the same and be true to themselves. So go download her older albums like The Family Jewels and Electra Heart album to see what attracted fans to her! And then, if you enjoyed that, download her new album FROOT to see how she has progressed her significant style.
Whether people like to admit it or not, everyone is a little obsessed with a celebrity or two. But what could be better than famous people’s famous pets? Whether it’s the Obama’s dogs or Justin Bieber’s monkey, pets usually make the news. So here’s a peek at the pets you may not have seen yet.
Bella Thorne’s cat Lola
Ariana Grande’s dog Sirius Black
Miley Cyrus’ pig Bubba Sue
Taylor Swift’s cat Olivia
Cara Delevingne’s bunny Cecil
Were those not the cutest pets you’ve seen today? Sometimes I follow celebrities strictly to see their pets. So go follow them today to make your day a little brighter!
The world has gone Tom Hardy crazy, and I am no exception. Over the past few years, he has started sneaking his way into just about every popular movie. He was in two of the eight movies up for Best Picture at the Oscars, and was nominated for best actor in a supporting role, thanks to his outstanding performance in The Revenant.
Why is Tom Hardy so popular, you ask? The most obvious answer is that his acting skills are impeccable. He can play any role and completely knock it out of the park. Unstable twins (yes, two of him) taking over the London crime scene? No problem. A lying, vicious, self-centered wild man making his way through blizzards in the uncharted wilderness? Easy. A Boston bartender who turns out to be a murderer but still convinces you to have a soft spot for him in the end? He can do that, too (or maybe that was just me).
There’s also no denying the charm of his British accent, and the looks certainly don’t hurt. He can pull off a clean cut look better than most guys out there, but can rock a beard even better. The tattoos are just an added bonus.
Did you know that he’s also a dedicated husband and father? It doesn’t get much better than Tom in all his glory holding his mini-me… except for him holding puppies. That comes pretty close.
If you somehow don’t have a major crush on Tom Hardy already, do yourself a favor and watch every movie that he’s ever been in. You’ll thank me later.
If you’re a Game of Thrones fan then you’ve known about Maisie Williams for a while now. But recently, she has gotten a lot of attention online for being a beautiful lively actress. As a huge GoT fan and an even bigger fan of her character Arya, I just adore Maisie. She is one of the most fun actresses I have ever followed on Instagram. Here’s a little peek at the wonderful Maisie.
Here’s a look at Maisie’s new love in her life, her adopted dog Sonny:

Adopted this little guy from Bristol Dogs and Cats home just after Christmas. Now that he's finally settled, I wanted to show you all the best companion I could have asked for. If you are looking for a dog and you are in the position to rescue, rather than buy, then PLEASE do- you never know what you might find. @bristoldogsandcatshome Instaworld meet Sonny #adoptdontshop
And don’t even get me started on her fashion sense. I am beyond jealous of how many different styles she can pull off.
She’s all about supporting other women and is very active in the Like A Girl campaign.

Always studies show that 72% of girls feel boxed in by society, dictating what they should or shouldn't do- It's time for this to change. Today I had the honour of speaking at the @Always_brand #LikeAGirl Confidence Summit in NYC. I had the most amazing time and I would love for you all to check out the new video on my Twitter (link in bio) and get inspired to be unstoppable #LikeAGirl #ad
All in all, Maisie is one of the most positive celebrities on social media today. She admires her character Arya just as much as the audience does and she tries really hard to make the world a better place with her position as a celebrity.
Anyone who has watched Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt knows that pinot noir is not only a wine, but also a song, a music video, and a lifestyle. Kimmy Schmidt star Tituss Burgess took a cue from his character and released his own line of pinot noir! Pinot by Tituss is available now to buy in stores or have shipped straight to your home!
Burgess announced the wine on his Instagram page and has since posted enough about it to make any wino think about trying it. I look forward to strutting around my house with a glass (or just the bottle) in hand singing “pinot noir, caviar, Myanmar, mid-sized car” as fiercely as Titus Andromedon himself.
The chic wine can only be purchased in a few stores, but can be bought online here. Shipping is not yet available to all 50 states, so make sure you check before ordering! Before entering the website it will ask you to confirm that you’re over 21 by clicking either “yassss” or “no.” The prices of the bottles vary based on how many bottles you plan on buying, but the more you buy the cheaper they are per bottle! Bottles go for $24.99 each, $23.49 each for three or more, and $19.99 each for six or more. There is a cost to ship as well so don’t be surprised if your order for one bottle comes close to 40 or 50 dollars.
My bottle is still in the mail, but if you’ve already gotten yours feel free to comment and let us know what you think!

About a month ago I did a celebrity crush article on Ian Somerhalder, one of the stars of Vampire Diaries. But today I want to focus on his co-star and ex-girlfriend, Nina Dobrev. There are very few celebrities I look up to because celebrity idolization can be pretty toxic, but Nina is one of the most beautiful and genuine people I have ever seen. So let’s talk about why Nina is the best.
To start off, how absolutely stunning is she? I would legitimately kill for her eyebrows and bone structure. Also, her fashion sense is impeccable.
She’s a huge Harry Potter nerd! It’s always awesome when celebrities show us how obsessed they can be with something, too.
She’s the total opposite of a mean girl, letting you know you can sit with her.

If I was a celebrity, Nina Dobrev is who I would strive to be like. She’s gorgeous, funny, and sweet. She doesn’t try to maintain an air of exclusive classiness like a lot of celebrities. She shows her fans that she’s human too and sometimes has bad days. She encourages people to value your friends and mental health in order to lead a happy and fulfilling life.
Last week after Kesha’s trial, it was ruled that Sony would not terminate her contract with Dr. Luke. We saw videos of the pop star breaking down in tears and our collective heart broke for her. But soon after, there was an outpouring of support not just from fans, but from celebrities, too.
After the ruling, there was a wave of tweets condemning the ruling, sending positive vibes, and supporting Kesha entirely.
After the kind words, some celebrities took bigger action in hopes of supporting Kesha. Taylor Swift donated $250,000 “to help with any of her financial needs during this trying time.”
Musician Zedd offered to produce a song with Kesha.
However, Lady Gaga has been the most dedicated and vocal in her support for Kesha. At the Oscars she dedicated her performance of her song Til It Happens to You to Kesha. She brought rape survivors on stage and stood together in unity and made a very powerful and moving statement.
Kesha responded with a couple of tweets of her own.
Overall, Kesha’s situation is horrible and devastating, but the huge amount of support from celebrities and fans is astounding. It demonstrates how coming forward about abuse will not always be met with rumors and speculation, but with hope and support. Ideally, Kesha’s bravery and her supporters will inspire and comfort others in similar situations.
A survey in 2012 showed that 1 in 5 adults has a tattoo. But celebrities get a lot more freedom in that department. It seems like every time a big celebrity gets a tattoo, it’s all over the news and impossible to miss. So here are just a few awesome tattoos we’ve seen on our favorite celebrities.
In September 2012, Rihanna got a chest piece tattoo as a tribute to her late grandmother. The internet was very excited about this tattoo because it caused Rihanna to pose shirtless for a lot more photos. When tweeting the picture of her new tattoo, Rihanna wrote:
“Goddess Isis – Complete Woman – Model for future generations – #GRANGRANDOLLY – always in and on my heart.”

The beautiful actress has a list of coordinates on her upper arm. The longitude and latitude correlate to when her adopted children came into her life. The places include Cambodia, Ethiopia, Namibia, Vietnam, and France. The seventh line of the list tattoo is the coordinates of her husband Brad Pitt’s birthplace in Oklahoma.
- Cara Delevingne
This star has become hugely popular recently as a Victoria Secret model and an actress in Paper Towns. She has almost 25 million followers on instagram and uses this platform this show off her tattoos. Her first tattoo was a lion on her pointer finger. She explains that she’s a Leo and that the tattoo is a reminder to be fearless.

The fiery lead singer of the band Paramore has a rectangle with three bars tattooed on her wrist. Her and her two bandmates Jeremy Davis and Taylor York all have the same tattoo to signify their unity as a band. The three bars represent the three of the band members. The tattoo soon became the logo for the band.
My favorite artist got three x’s tattooed on her hand in 2015. After getting it she tweeted, “Now I’m the human version of a parental advisory sticker.” Halsey is not known for censoring herself and got a tattoo to demonstrate that to others. Overall, the coolest tattoo ever.

If you ever need inspiration for a tattoo or just find stories interesting, look into celebrity tattoos! Some are simply beautiful pieces they chose to decorate their bodies with while others have touching stories behind them.
