Thanks to the history making alternative rock station in Seattle, 107.7 The End – I recently came across the music of a very talented young Irishman, Hozier. The station picks a new artist every week or so to feature on their Discover & Download initiative where listeners can download a song for free of a new artist. Last month, they featured Hozier and his song “Take Me to Church.” The first time I heard the song, it made my hairs stand up with its powerful chorus. Remember that movie Just My Luck from 2006? Remember it starred the adorable, Chris Pine and not yet crazy, Lindsay Lohan? Well one thing I bet you don’t remember from that movie is the incredibly brilliant band featured in the movie, McFly. They had a very small part in the film, portraying the band Pine’s character was trying to get signed. With lead singer, James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), at the helm, the band has gained a large fan base since their genesis in 2002.
