For a while, it seemed as though frozen yogurt shops were popping up like daisies, replacing offerings of ice cream with something a bit healthier. Now the health kick has continued with the rise of smoothie shops, which offer a myriad flavors… for quite a fee. Why pay to have someone else make you a smoothie when you could just make one from home? Continue reading

I like tea. That revelation is probably no surprise to anyone who reads this site often, but it bears repeating given this week’s quirky item is the Adagio Signature Tea Blends of Ms. Cara McGee (read our interview with her). There was a time when I thought being a tea connoisseur was tasting the difference between Lipton and Tetley, but in college my friend Sophie opened my eyes to the wonderful varied world of teas and I haven’t looked back since. I’m always on the lookout for yummy and refreshing cocktail recipes I can serve at parties and enjoyable nurse along, so I was delighted when I found these two recipes by Rhonda at The Kitchen Witch. As much as I would love to learn how to use emulsifiers and create foams, I don’t think I’m at the point yet where my traditional cooking skills are strong enough to branch out. Continue reading

Meg’s Fall Beer Recipe

When I think about what I like to drink in the Fall, I automatically come to this go to cocktail recipe. It’s quick, fallesque and sweeter than your average beer. My friend Elle introduced me to this about 3 years ago.

This would be a great drink to serve at a Halloween party or to enjoy while you’re celebrating Oktoberfest!

You’re going to need a very large cup to fit everything that is needed in this cocktail recipe.
