I wish I was a green smoothie junkie. In my mind regularly drinking bright green liquid vegetables put you in the same league as tall, lean yoga addicts (which I am not). But if I’m being completely honest, I will only break out my stick blender around raw vegetables when I feel my general health needs a little perking up.
When I make green smoothie I base it around four key ingredients; a green leaf (usually spinach or kale), a fruit, citrus and a medicinal herb. This is my favourite combination because it blends easily and the majority of the flavours are mild. Spinach is a fantastic ingredient as not only does it nourish your eyes and bones it also flushes out toxins which can improve the quality of your skin.
