Ladies, I want you to think about that one boy that has always had a certain kind of quirky allure. The boy next door, the one you grew up with, the one that marches to the beat of his own drum and seems to awkwardly stumble into your heart. I’m talking about the real life Seth Cohens of the world. But, since the end of Adam Brody’s reign on The O.C., there hasn’t seemed to be another man in the spotlight with this particular kind of charm. Until now, that is.
The intense mid-season opener for Teen Wolf left me frightened, anxious and absolutely elated for the upcoming second half of the season. When the summer episodes ended, it left us with an ominous overtone for the impending events this winter. Scott, Stiles and Allison almost died, accepting dark side effects in order to save their parents. These side effects were in full swing in the returning episode “Anchors,” giving viewers only a small preview into the craziness that is to come. While the majority of the focus has been on leading ladies, Valentines Day 2014 will give the boys another moment in the spotlight with James Dashner’s The Maze Runner.
When Thomas (played by Teen Wolf’s Dylan O’Brien) wakes up in some sort of elevator knowing nothing but his name, he’s got to figure out what’s going on and perhaps who he is. He soon finds out that he’s not alone in this uncommon situation, but that there are a few dozen other boys who have arrived through the same box, once a month, over the past few years. The first stills from the latest Young Adult Dystopian Novel to make it to the big screen, The Maze Runner, have been released for fans and critics alike to speculate over. The five images show the cast, Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Aml Ameen and Thomas Brodie-Sangster, running with torches, dressed like “the others” from Lost, and sporting some seriously scared faces. The stills also provide a good look at lead Thomas, played by O’Brien, the “elevator” that brings the boys to the maze, and the scene where Scodelario’s character, Theresa, is introduced to the testosterone only gang of “runners.” Check out all the images below.
