In Andrew Niccol’s Good Kill, Ethan Hawke stars as Major Tommy Egan, an air combat veteran who now conducts missions as a drone pilot. Exploring the ethics of drone warfare, the film delves into the affect this new form of warfare has on Egan, but aslo on those around him. The Daily Quirk caught up with director/screenwriter Niccol and Hawke, along with co-stars January Jones and Zoë Kravitz on the red carpet at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of Good Kill to talk about what drew them to the movie, their characters and what they hope audiences take away from the film! With award season underway, tons of movies are gaining a lot of buzz on who will win the most coveted awards in the industry. One of the nominees in multiple categories is the unbelievable movie Boyhood starring Ellar Coltrane, Patricia Arquette, Lorelei Linklater and Ethan Hawke. If you haven’t heard of it yet, it’s a remarkable timeline of where you literally see the main character Mason (Ellar Coltrane) grow up to be an adult. Movie Review: ‘Sinister’

Horror movies can be a tricky thing. There are so many bad horror movies out there, it’s hard to figure out which ones are actually worth watching. Sinister comes from the producer of the Paranormal Activity movies and Insidious (all of which I’ve seen) and the writer-director of The Exorcism of Emily Rose (which I haven’t). To be quite honest, the real selling point for me was Ethan Hawke. And that scene from the trailer of the disturbing kid crawling out of a box. But mostly Ethan Hawke. Continue reading
