Rise of the Fellowship, winner of Best Feature Film at the Gen Con Indy Film Festival 2012, is half adventure flick, half buddy comedy and full on love letter to the work of J.R.R. Tolkien. The film follows a group of teenage gamers (who just so happen to be serious Lord of the Rings fans) on an amusing journey that will entertain hardcore Tolkien fans and newbies alike.
The Daily Quirk recently had a chance to catch up with the film’s writer, Scott Mathias, director, Ron Newcomb, and two of the film’s stars, Emma Earnest and Alyssa Jacobsen, for an interview about all things Rise of the Fellowship, what it’s like being a female gamer, and what makes this indie flick so special.
