Celebrity Crush: Former ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Star Nina Dobrev

Celebrity Crush: Former ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Star Nina DobrevAbout a month ago I did a celebrity crush article on Ian Somerhalder, one of the stars of Vampire Diaries. But today I want to focus on his co-star and ex-girlfriend, Nina Dobrev. There are very few celebrities I look up to because celebrity idolization can be pretty toxic, but Nina is one of the most beautiful and genuine people I have ever seen. So let’s talk about why Nina is the best.

To start off, how absolutely stunning is she? I would legitimately kill for her eyebrows and bone structure. Also, her fashion sense is impeccable.

She’s a huge Harry Potter nerd! It’s always awesome when celebrities show us how obsessed they can be with something, too.

She’s the total opposite of a mean girl, letting you know you can sit with her.

Her and her girlfriends are absolute #friendgoals.

And above all, she’s not afraid to be silly and have fun. Fun and happiness is a huge part of her life and she does not hide that.

I woke up like this. #UNICORN Life.

If I was a celebrity, Nina Dobrev is who I would strive to be like. She’s gorgeous, funny, and sweet. She doesn’t try to maintain an air of exclusive classiness like a lot of celebrities. She shows her fans that she’s human too and sometimes has bad days. She encourages people to value your friends and mental health in order to lead a happy and fulfilling life.

‘The Bronze Horseman:’ The Dream Cast We’re Rooting For

‘The Bronze Horseman:’ The Dream Cast We’re Rooting ForThe Bronze Horseman is a novel by Paullina Simons that I devoured around last Christmas. As a History major, I have a really odd soft spot for the Soviets and their history with us. I can’t really explain it, but if you get it, or at least like romance novels, then give this book a chance. It follows the story of Tatiana Metanova and opens on the day Russia declares war on Germany after an invasion. She meets a Russian soldier named Alexander and their story blooms from there. It’s captivating and just an all around amazing story. And this past October, Simons announced that the novel has a confirmed movie deal. And this book has a very special place in my heart and here are just a few people I hope may be included among the cast.

  1. Chloë Grace Moretz as Tatiana

Chloë has gotten very popular lately having been picked as the lead in The Fifth Wave movie adaption. I feel like she’d be a great Tatiana because she’s young and really fits the description of the young Russian girl.

  1. Henry Cavill as Alexander

The Internet has been vying for Henry Cavill to play Alexander so hard and for so long now, I’m honestly scared to suggest anyone else.

  1. Nina Dobrev as Dasha

Dasha is Tatiana’s older sister and I feel like Nina is such a beautiful and great actress that she could convey the sultry and sometimes kind-of-bitchy Dasha very well. There is a chance she’s much too tan to play the part of a Russian girl, but I’m in love with Nina and just want her to be in everything.

  1. Ed Westwick as Dimitri

Dimitri is the friend of Alexander and shows some interest in Tatiana. However, there’s something about him Tatiana doesn’t like. I think Ed Westwick would be able to give Dimitri his untrustworthy air.

These are just a few suggestions of some of the people I’d like to envision playing the roles of some of my favorite characters. I know casting is a hard and difficult process and I think all fans will understand if our top picks don’t get cast. Let’s all just be thankful that such a wonderful novel is getting turned into a movie that we can share and enjoy with everyone.

Let’s Be Cops is not a cop comedy. Its stars, Damon Wayans Jr. and Jake Johnson, do not play cop characters. And that’s where the comedy comes in.

At San Diego Comic-Con, some of the film’s stars including Wayans Jr., Nina Dobrev, Rob Riggle and Keegan-Michael Key sat for a press conference to talk about the comedy before its release on August 13. Continue reading

The question on every fan’s mind at the end of the last season of The Vampire Diaries was undoubtedly this: Are Damon and Bonnie going to come back from the infamous ‘other side?’ If you’re looking for the answer to that question… you came to the wrong place. Though cast members Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Kat Graham, Matt Davis and writer Julie Plec lined up for the panel at the 2014 Comic-Con, they were giving nothing away about the upcoming season. They were, however, dazzling us with their wit, charm, adoration for their fans and, yes, their good looks. Continue reading

There’s only one thing I love more than an awards show, and that’s when it surprises me. Often times, we can all simply guess who is going to win a category by simply looking at the nominees. For example, when Taylor Swift won Favorite Country Artist, you know everyone in the world said “called it!” However, at the 2014 People’s Choice Awards, I was pleasantly surprised by who took home the trophy, who didn’t and the fashion in which the stars accepted their awards.

POLL: Who should play Anastasia Steele?

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The Poll is now closed. Thank you for voting!

After meeting Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele slowly transforms from an innocent and somewhat naive English Literature Major to an adventurous (albeit still wide-eyed) woman with an even more adventurous “inner goddess.” Lots of women want to be Anastasia Steele and seemingly just as many would like to play her in the upcoming movie version of Fifty Shades of Grey! We want to know, who do you think would be the best actress to bring this character to life on the silver screen?

Please note, this poll is for entertainment purposes only and is in no way associated with E.L. James, Vintage Books, Universal Pictures or Focus Features. One vote per individual. Comments are closed. Poll ends  12/31/12.

Why ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ is my fall movie choice!

Image Credit: © 2011 Summit Entertainment, LLC.

For years, my friends had been telling me that I needed to read Stephen Chbosky’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

I kept putting it off, buying newer books that I thought I would find more interesting or exciting, constantly moving Chbosky’s work farther and farther back on my bookshelf. I figured that I would get around to reading it eventually.

But then it was announced that a movie was being created with a cast filled with some of my favorite actors and actresses (Logan Lerman, Emma Watson and Paul Rudd to, literally, just name a few) and I knew that I couldn’t leave the book any longer. So I hunkered down and spent two days with Charlie.

Now I’m more excited for this movie than I have been for a film in quite some time. And sure, the cast plays a part in my excitement, but it’s so much more than just knowing that the actors and actresses can deliver the lines they are given. It’s seeing these words come to life.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower (in theaters Sept. 21) follows Charlie (Lerman), an introverted freshman who is befriended by seniors Sam (Watson) and Patrick (Ezra Miller), and his experiences with love, fear, loss and hope as he and his friends travel the terrifying inevitability that is growing up.

One of the reasons I’m excited for this movie is because I hope to understand Charlie a little more. I had trouble seeing his character for what he was as I flipped through the pages of Chbosky’s novel. I knew as I was reading that there was a great character hidden somewhere within the words of his letters, a life-changing character, and I hope that Lerman’s performance can bring me closer to that level of understanding.

Another flare of excitement on my part comes from Watson herself. As a huge fan of the Harry Potter franchise, I’m excited to see what the young actress can bring to the table in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, her first major role since she retired her wand. I think she has just the right amount of depth, attitude and grace that’s needed to pull of Sam.

Lastly, there is one moment that I am waiting for with bated breath to be immortalized on screen. One moment, one small phrase, that is capable of sending chills up my spine and making my heart ache a little at the feeling of completion I get every time I read those words. And to hear them actually come from Charlie will be amazing.

“And in that moment, I swear we were infinite.”

So sure, there are about a hundred things that I won’t be able to relate to when this movie comes out (none of which I’ll name for spoiler purposes, just in case you haven’t read the book). But there are certain things that anyone can relate to, like growing up, making mistakes and falling in love. And that’s what I think will make this movie great. I hope some of you will agree with me.

‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 4 Spoilers & Speculations!

Image Credit: Flickr User Cristian Krause

Last season’s shocking finale of The Vampire Diaries has us all on the edge of our seats waiting to find out how life in Mystic Falls is going to change for Elena, Bonnie, Caroline, Matt, Tyler and those handsome Salvatore brothers. Elena being turned was by far the biggest shocker of the series thus far. Even though many fans expected it would eventually happen, the manner of the whole thing with Rebekah causing Matt and Elena to drive of the the bridge and Elena asking Stefan to save Matt resulting in her own death (not to mention her not knowing she had the vampire blood in her system!) put an exciting twist on the inevitable.

Now that The Vampire Diaries Season Four Premiere is only weeks away, I figured I would round up some of the best spoilers and give my own take on how I expect season four to play out. Read on for Season Four Spoilers and Speculations!
